Book description:

Patrick’s Ocean Adventure follows Patrick, a baby loggerhead turtle born on Santa Maria Beach on Sal, Cape Verde, as he scrambles towards the moonlit sea and begins a drifting Atlantic journey fuelled by instinct, courage, and friendship. Along the way, he finds shelter in a floating seaweed hotel, meets Beto the flying fish, and learns a life-saving lesson about ocean plastic when something that looks like a jellyfish turns out to be a bag. Years later, guided by the pull of home, Patrick returns to the waters of Cape Verde and sees how people can help protect nesting beaches and young turtles.

A Story That Grows With the Child

Patrick’s Ocean Adventure meets children where they are: curious, emotional, and eager to understand the world. As Patrick grows from a hatchling into a confident young turtle, readers grow alongside him — learning that change can be strange, scary, and wonderful at the same time.

Perfect for Home, Classrooms & Conservation Education

This book works equally well as a bedtime story, a classroom resource, or part of environmental education programs. The included workbook encourages creativity, discussion, and real understanding — without screens or overstimulation.

A Calm, Hopeful Take on Ocean Protection

Rather than overwhelming children with catastrophe, the story shows how learning, cooperation, and care make a difference. From turning off beach lights to protecting nesting sites, young readers see how small actions matter.

Ideal For Ages 5–9 (and the Adults Who Read With Them)

Warmly written, gently humorous, and emotionally intelligent, this is a book adults enjoy reading aloud—and children ask to return to.
